Handprint and footprint jewellery is made from a fine silver clay and is a very versatile material to work with. The fine silver clay needs to be fired in a kiln at very high temperatures. Silver clay can be fired on the hob with a blow torch, however It is very important to fire the fine silver correctly at the right temperature and for the exact length of time, to ensure it is properly hardened and not weak, otherwise this could lead to pieces braking at a later-date.
